Nearly 6,000 VIPs are expected to attend the Sanya stopover of the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race. PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG is among the teams expected to host several of them, as is BERG Propulsion. With increased economic growth in the Asian market, especially China, the Sanya stopover is an important step in building lasting relationships for sponsors, teams, suppliers and a bevvy of companies across various industries that intend to expand in the region.
Says Sven Österberg, General Manager of Event Management at Sweden-based Volvo Group:
“It’s very important to meet customers in this brilliant, vibrant environment over three days with a mix of business, leisure and the very special Volvo Ocean Race sailing experience.
“Building the brand is important but for us it’s really about building relationships.”
BERG Propulsion echos this sentiment, and the Volvo Ocean Race serves as an exceptional platform from which we can build and development new and existing relationships with our customers.
There is mucg excitement surrounding the Race Village with all of the VIPs, the buzz and activity in the area and the well-deserved awards PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG has captured in Sanya (MCM Award for Amory Ross, Shore Crew award for the PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG Shore Team).
But at the end of the day, nothing beats being out on the water!
