Code Red for PUMA Ocean Racing Powered by BERG in the Volvo Ocean Race

Reliability is key for an event such as the Volvo Ocean Race, and the teams participating need to know that their support partners can follow through in a pinch. Several times throughout this race already the teams have had to fall back on the extraordinary web of support networks – from their shore teams to their sponsors to Volvo Ocean Race comman center in Alicante to the official logistics partners like DHL. And the peace of mind that comes with knowing that this network is rock solid and stretches around the world is what allows teams, such as PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG, to be able to push to the max, make bold moves and give it their all in this race.

DHL delivered in every sense of the word once again in Auckland, when the Mar Mostro had just 3 days to fix one of 2 damaged daggerboards before getting back in the water. DHL made it possible to get the team’s spare daggerboard from Amsterdam to Auckland just in time.

It’s this type of perfomance, reliablility and efficiency that BERG Propulsion’s customers need day in and day out. Our customers operate in some of the most dangerous and remote seas, and being able to contact us 24 hours a day is crucial. You never hope for a “code red” but when it happens, we’re there!

Looks like we’re on our way! The “TEAM BREMEN” container ship has made it through customs and inclement weather and is now on its way to pick up the PUMA Ocean Racing powered by BERG team! While docked the shore team (with help from Volvo Ocean Race and DHL/Pronto teams) managed to build the cradle that will transport Mar Mostro from Tristan da Cunha to Cape Town.

BERG Propulsion is standing by to make sure all goes (as close as possible) according to plan – Expect More!

4 Days to Tristan!
